We are currently seeking a full-time Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team at Concept Controls. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving growth across our portfolio of industrial safety and monitoring solutions. You will identify and develop new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and position Concept Controls as the trusted provider of safety and compliance technologies.

Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving growth across Concept Controls’ portfolio of industrial safety and monitoring solutions. This role combines strategic business development with solution-based sales, focusing on gas detection, air and water monitoring, personal protective equipment, and related safety technologies. The BDM will identify new market opportunities, develop strong customer partnerships, and position Concept Controls as the go-to provider for safety and compliance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities in target industries such as oil & gas, mining, construction, utilities, and environmental services.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Concept Controls’ product and service offerings, including gas detection, environmental monitoring, and safety equipment.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor on safety and compliance needs.
  • Deliver technical product presentations, demonstrations, and training to customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and safety solutions for client requirements. 
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Consistently achieve sales targets and contribute to overall company growth.
  • Represent Concept Controls at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote the brand and solutions. 
  • Provide market and customer insights to support product development, service offerings, and marketing strategies.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or account management, ideally in industrial safety, monitoring equipment, or environmental technologies. 
  • Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets in B2B markets.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex safety and monitoring solutions. 
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of occupational health & safety standards, gas detection, or industrial monitoring equipment is an asset.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites, industry events, and regional offices as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Electronic or instrumentation experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in the Customer Service or Rental industry is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent technical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Well organized and able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

We are currently looking to fill a full-time fall protection Installer. In this position, you will be critical in safeguarding workers’ lives by installing and maintaining fall protection systems. Responsible for working on a variety of different projects and collaborating with team members to ensure we are executing installations with the highest standards of quality and safety.   

Job Description:

  • Install and inspect fall protection systems, including guardrails, lifelines, anchor points.
  • Basic construction skills
  • Physically fit  
  • Collaborate with Project Manager, Engineer and clients to understand the scope of work and requirements to ensure installation meets specifications and engineered drawings.
  • Conduct pre-installation site assessments as required, to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate plan of action. 
    Prove feedback to Project Manager and Engineer on any project issues or delays.
  • Adhere to industry standards and regulations, as well as company policies and safety procedures to ensure compliance. 
    Document installation process and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Laptop, Smartphone, iPad). 
    Good verbal communication skills with clients and co-workers 
    Valid Driver’s License with no major traffic violations within the last 5 years.
  • Display team effort and dedication to customer  
    Job requires out of town travel, overnight hotel stays with crew member(s)
  • Ability to work at heights & Confined spaces.
  • Strong organization, along with attention to detail & accuracy
  • Must be able to deal effectively and courteously with both internal team members and external customers.
