Battery & Charging
Equipped with a 2 Ah rechargeable battery, which typically achieves a full charge in 4.5 hours at room temperature. On a full charge, the battery life lasts approximately 17 hours with LTE-M and 16 hours with 2G. However, battery run-time may vary based on several factors, including cellular and GPS coverage, ambient temperature, usage patterns, active alerts, acknowledgment delay of alerts, location changes, RFID readings, gas readings, device navigation, battery age, and battery cycles.
Durability
Surpassesing the MIL-STD-810G 516.6 Transit Drop standard, enduring over 26 drops from a height of 4 feet (1.2 meters). It can also withstand an incidental drop from 25 feet (7.5 meters) onto concrete. The ALTAIR io 4 can survive 60 minutes in the NFPA 1982-2018 tumble tester and boasts a dust and waterproof rating of IP68, ensuring protection up to 2 meters for 1 hour.
Location Awareness
Featureing concurrent GNSS capabilities, utilizing both GPS and GLONASS systems. GPS updates occur every 30 seconds when a position is acquired. If no position is acquired, the device conserves battery life by searching for a location every five minutes. The GPS accuracy is approximately 2.5 meters, though this can be affected by surroundings, infrastructure, and environmental conditions.
